Weekend Photography Workshops
Northumberland and North York Moors
4 clients only
£250 per person

When I introduced my weekend workshops back in 2018, they became an instant hit with photographers of all abilities. As with all of my UK workshops, places are limited to 4 per workshop, which ensures that you get the best possible experience.

The workshops run from 5pm or 6pm on a Friday evening and finish around 12.30pm on Sunday. The meeting point for the workshops in Northumberland is Alnwick and in North Yorkshire it is Stokesley. Both of these locations provide great access to some of the best landscape locations and dark sky areas that either county has to offer.

The workshops are priced at £250 per person. This does not include accommodation but does include travel during the workshop itself. Of course if you choose, you are free to use your own transport.

A typical itinerary for the workshops would be*:-

Friday - meet at 6pm and then head out to shoot sunset at our chosen location, we will shoot through blue hour and then move onto shooting the stars which could include the milky way or northern lights** depending on the time of year and favourable conditions.

Saturday  - we will out early for sunrise and this session will usually last for 4 hours. We will then have a break, allowing you recharge both your camera batteries and yourself! In the afternoon we will meet up around 3pm, giving us plenty of time to prepare for sunset, blue hour and the stars once again. We are usually finished at around 10pm

Sunday  - early start once again to shoot sunrise. This session would last for a couple of hours. We then have a break allowing you to have some breakfast and check out of your accommodation. We then meet up once again to either take more photos or as most groups prefer, we do an editing masterclass where the photos taken over the weekend can be critiqued and I can show you how to get the most out of your post processing.

These workshops are a great way to develop your skills, be you totally new to photography or an experience photographer the locations we visit and tuition offered will develop your personal goals.

If you are booking a workshop to Iceland, Norway or Italy with me, then as part of these workshops price, a free weekend workshop place is offered. This helps to ensure that you have the right equipment to enjoy your workshop abroad and also have the techniques to maximise the photographic opportunities when we get there.

As with all of my workshops, you will have the ability to use and test the full range of Maven Filters free of charge and on weekend workshops if you don't have a study tripod, then no problem as these can also be supplied along with L brackets, again free of charge.

The full payment of £250 is required at the time of booking which is non refundable. If a medical or family emergency occurred in the 7 days prior to you attending the workshop then we would look to move you to an alternative date in the future.

Please click on the link here to be taken back to the main workshop page & use the booking request form to reserve your place.

* please note timings are approximate based on the time of year as sunrise and sunset varies greatly. For Northumberland weekend workshops in June and July then we also do an optional trip to the Farne Islands as they are at there very best with all of the migratory nesting birds including Puffins and Terns.

Please note that that Northern Lights / Aurora Borealis are naturally occurring phenomena. Whilst every effort will me made to find locations where it may be possible to see and photograph them, this cannot be guaranteed due to weather or naturally occurring conditions. In the event that is it not possible to see or photograph the Northern Lights / Aurora Borealis, no partial of full refund will be offered.
