ABOUT ME
For me photography is a passion, not a profession.
I grew up on the Northumberland Coast and have been taking photos from a very early age. I refined my photography skills whilst living in the French Alps during the early 1990's. Starting a family and pursuing a career, somewhat curtailed my photography. 4 years ago I launched Steve Bell Photography. I now live in Helmsley, North Yorkshire and since then I have been commissioned by the North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales National Park Authorities to provide them with both still and time-lapse footage to promote the Dark Skies Festivals along with their fantastic achievement of being awarded Dark Sky Reserve Status. I work on a freelance basis with the BBC's Natural History Unit, again providing specialist nighttime time-lapse footage. My timelapse work has been featured on "A Wild Year" along with national and regional news channel. My landscape and dark sky photography has also been published in all of the major Uk newspapers, many magazines and used by agencies for publications, websites and marketing campaigns.
Coaching has also been part huge part of my professional career and it was only natural that this is one area that I wanted to explore. 2018 saw the launch of workshops across Yorkshire, 2019 saw these expand across the UK. These have grown still further with Iceland and Norway added to the itineraries. Please check out the workshop page for current availability.
