Raw, New and Unspoilt!
In the summer of 2026, I visited Northern Spain with a group of clients to photograph the total solar eclipse, which was just the most amazing experience. Whilst the eclipse was without doubt the highlight of the trip, I was blown away by the sheer beauty of this amazing area and could instantly see its potential as a future venue for workshops.
Now don't get me wrong, if you are into your landscape photography (I am presuming that you are by the fact that you are reading this) then at some stage, you will want to visit and photograph the classics. Iceland, The Lofoten Islands, Tuscany and the Dolomittes to name a few, and for good reason too - they are all amazing places to visit. I love them all which is why I return year after year.
However over the last decade, social media has exploded and areas that were once relatively unknown and unspoilt are now tourist traps and if you look online there are so many photos to be found. Again many of these are bucket list images that you will want in your portfolio.
However........... when was the last time that you photographed somewhere that isn't all over Instagram or Facebook? When did you last explore a new area and find unique compositions?
Let me tell you a little bit more. This area of Spain is just over 90 minutes from the UK on a plane. Once there you have so many options. You can head into the national parks that have amazing towering mountains with amazing panoramas and there are new photos to take around virtually every corner. Then there is the coastline - sea stacks, crashing waves, quaint villages, towering cliffs, storm beaches. I could go on and on. The main roads are also amazing, everywhere seems to have new dual carriage ways meaning it's very quick and easy to get around. Finally I have to mention the people, who are all amazingly friendly and welcoming.
I am sure in years to come this coastline will become a Mecca for the landscape photographer, but for now, it's raw, new and unspoilt. In comparison to other areas in the world it is also a lot cheaper to visit and offers exceptional value.
The workshop that I am going to be running will be for a maximum of 3 people. Accommodation will be in a self catering villa which gives us the freedom to come and go as we please. We will hire a 4 wheeled drive vehicle for when we are there, giving us plenty of space when we travel around and explore. The cost of the workshop includes all accommodation, travel whilst in Spain and the cost of the workshop itself. Being self catering we usually put a kitty together and buy everything that we need, which also saves a lot of money.
The cost of the workshop is £2450 per person and to secure your place a £400 non refundable deposit is required. The final balance will be due on the 23rd January 2028. Please fill out the form below to reserve your place or to find out more details.
All of the photos on this page were taken during the summer of 2026.
