If you are a serious landscape photographer then you will probably already know about the Isle of Skye. It is one of those places that you must visit, explore and photograph. From Saturday 14th through until Saturday 21st March 2026, you can join me in this amazing place.

March is a great month to visit the Isle of Skye, with the potential for snow on the tops of the mountains, the dark nights offer the potential for the Northern Lights and the Galactic Core of the Milkyway also comes back above the horizon. From where we are staying it is possible to photograph both of these amazing night time events!* The days and nights are also just about equal length with Sunrise around 6.45am and Sunset at 6.30pm.

A moderate level of fitness is required as some uphill walking is required to reach the photography locations that we will be visiting.

We will be staying near Staffin in the north of Skye for 7 nights. Accommodation is on a self catering basis and we have 2 * 2 bedroomed cottages which right next to one another. In both cottages, every bedroom is en suite. There is very comfortable living space, wifi and fully equipped kitchens. Staying on a self catering basis, allows us to be as flexible as we want to be and no need to worry about getting back for breakfast or an evening meal - which is usually when the light is at its best!

During the week, there will also be the option to take a boat tour from Portree to try photograph the resident White Tailed Sea Eagles along with taking another boat trip to Loch Coruisk.

As with all of my week long UK workshops, places are limited to 3 - 4 clients only. The cost of the workshop, which includes accommodation, travel around Skye and tuition is £1500 if you are coming by yourself or £1200 if you would like to share a room with your partner or a friend.

A £400 deposit is required to secure you place with the remaining balance due by the 3rd January 2026.

The following week - Sunday 22nd to Sunday 29th March, I will also be running a workshop just across the water on the Isle of Harris and Lewis. If you would like to find out more then please click here. If you would like to attend both workshops then a discounted price is available.

To reserve your place please click here to return to the main workshop page and use the booking request form.

*Please note that that Northern Lights / Aurora Borealis are naturally occurring phenomena. Whilst every effort will me made to find locations where it may be possible to see and photograph them, this cannot be guaranteed due to weather or naturally occurring conditions. In the event that is it not possible to see or photograph the Northern Lights / Aurora Borealis, no partial of full refund will be offered.
