Torridon is a small village and dramatic landscape area in the Northwest Highlands of Scotland, in Wester Ross, along the shores of Upper Loch Torridon. It’s one of the most strikingly wild and scenic regions in the country, famed for its towering sandstone mountains, crystal-clear lochs, and rugged glens. The mountains surrounding Torridon—such as Liathach, Beinn Alligin, and Beinn Eighe—rise sharply from near sea level to over 1,000 meters, creating some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in the UK. They’re provide an amazing backdrop for us landscape  photographers with their steep ridges, ancient rock layers and panoramic views. Torridon, also features rare Caledonian pine forest, moorland, and diverse wildlife such as Red Deer, Golden Eagles, and Pine Martens.  All in all, it is an amazing place to spend a week taking photographs. October is an amazing month to visit as the Autumn colours should be starting to appear, there is the chance of mist in the valleys and forest and who knows maybe even some early snow on the tops of the mountains. Oh and don't forget the dark skies which are amazing in this part of the world especially with the new moon being on the 1st October and finally there is always the chance of the Aurora too. 

 

Accommodation is in a wonderful 5 bedroom house on the edge of Loch Torridon only a few miles from Torridon village itself. We will be staying on a self catering basis, meaning that we are free to come and go as we please. 

 

The cost of the workshop if £1650 per person which includes the accommodation, travel during week and the workshop itself. The cost of travel to Torridon is not included and during the week, we create a kitty and get all the supplies we need and then split the total 5 ways, this makes it really cost effective.
