Italian Dolomites
"Development Workshop"

2nd - 9th October 2026
1 place only remaining
£2950 per person*

When I was much younger, I lived in the Alps for 4 years and had the opportunity to visit the Italian Dolomites on a few occasions. I knew that it was a region that I had to return too with the camera. In the summer of 2024, I did and it was just as beautiful as I remembered. There and then that I had to add this stunning part of the world to my workshop itinerary.

I am therefore delighted to announce that from the 2nd - 9th October 2026, I will be running a development workshop. When ever I add a new location, I always run one of these workshops, as I want to fully test the itinerary, gather client feedback and also do some further research. The benefit for clients who are attending the workshop is that I offer a discounted price.

This workshop at the moment is planned to be 7 nights. However it could well be that we would fly into either Venice or Verona airport on Friday 1st October and fly back home on either Sunday 8th or Monday 9th October - or it could be a combination of all of there days. A lot would depend on the flights and their cost. It would seem a shame though not to spend at least 1 night in Venice!

This will then leave 7 days to explore the Dolomites and accommodation will be in either hotels, on a bed and breakfast basis or alpine chalets on a self catering basis. The plan would be to have a 2 centre holiday. The first few days would be based around San Candido which gives great access to the 3 peaks region along with Lago di Braies. We will then travel towards Alpe di Siusi region which also gives great access to the Val Gardena, Karersee, Seceda and the church at St Johann. It promises to be an action packed week!

As you can image with it being a mountainous region then there will be some uphill walking required, as such a moderate level of fitness will be required. However these is some good news - the cable cars and gondolas will all be open which give great access to the mountains and avoids the need to walk up and down!

I have also chosen October for a good reasons. Firstly the sunrises at half 7 in the morning which will allow us the time to get to our locations well ahead of this and maximise the blue hour and golden hour light. The sun sets around half 6 in the afternoon so again we will have ample opportunities to maximise the light. The new moon is on the 10th March which means that the sky will not be saturated by its light. This will give us great opportunities to photograph the Milkyway above the mountain tops. Finally there is the chance that there will be early season snow of the mountains will would make amazing images and finally the Autumn colours will be starting to appear along with the chance of mist in the valleys - of course all of this is weather dependant!

*The approximate cost of the workshop is £2900 - £3100 per person which includes accommodation, travel whilst in Italy along with photography instruction. Flights to Italy, meals and tickets for ski lifts are not included. If we decide to spend an additional night / nights in Venice then the cost of this accommodation would be additional. The approximate cost is based on the prices that I can see for October 2024 and I have added 10% due to year or year price increases. This is at the top end of the estimate and being a development workshop, if the costs prove to be cheaper then I will pass the saving back onto you.

To reserve your place then please click here to be taken back to the main workshop page and use the booking request form at the bottom of the page. A £400 deposit will be required to secure your place and the final balance will be due by the 1st August 2026.

Please note - with this being a development workshop with a discounted price, there is no free weekend workshop place available for this trip.
