ICELAND -
GRAND TOUR
5TH - 22ND November 2027
£5750 per person
Only 2 places remaining

It's Back!!
In 2022, I had the mad idea that it would be a good idea to run a 17 night workshop in Iceland during 2024. That would give us all of the time that we needed to explore the amazing country that is Iceland. If I am honest, I didn't expect that anyone would be interested or indeed committed enough to spending that much time away from home taking photos and having an adventure.
How wrong I was! All 3 places were booked within a couple of weeks. No backing out then - it was on, and a huge amount of planning then needed to take place. Again, in my own mind ahead of it starting , I very much envisaged that the workshop would be a one off workshop never to be repeated!
On the last day of the workshop, I asked if everyone had enjoyed it and asked if they thought I should run it again. The answer was unanimous and one client said that she wanted a place there and then.
I am therefore delighted to announce that from Friday 5th November until Monday 22nd November 22nd 2027, "Iceland - The Grand Tour" will be returning for another instalment.
Map shows approximate route and where we will be staying each day
Having visited and run workshops in Iceland over the past decade, I know how changeable the weather can be, I also know that you are there to take photos, not spend countless hours in a mini bus travelling between each honey pot location, only to stand in line with lots of other photographers, who are all taking the same image.
That is why, I only ever take 3 clients on my Iceland workshops. It allows us to travel much more comfortably in a 4 wheeled drive vehicle, creates amazing friendships and more important ensures that we can look for unique compositions and allows you to express your own photography talents, whilst I am on hand to offer you all of the tuition and advise that you need. It also means that I can book accommodation, where larger groups cannot stay, which saves on the overall price of the workshop. Finally for the Grand Tour, 17 days is a long time to be away and to make the most of the experience, it is important to build in to down time each day. Trust me, no matter how committed you are to your photography, you can't take images for 10 hours a day for 17 days! That is also why the route has been carefully chosen and the numbers of days in each location are usually 2 or more. Where we have a 1 night stop, the driving distance is much shorter. As ever with Iceland, there is always so much to point your camera at along the way.
On this workshop we will of course be visiting many of the iconic locations in Iceland, but we will also visit lots more that would normally be driven past on a shorter trip or indeed unknown without local knowledge, gained over the years.
This workshop isn't for the faint heated! You will need lots of stamina, a sense of adventure and be prepared to have lots of fun. You will need to be prepared to shoot in lots of varying conditions and have equipment that has handle everything that Iceland can throw at it. Whilst you don't need to be super fit, you will need to be able to walk uphill on occasions and be comfortable with strong winds, cold temperatures, snow and ice. I would also recommend that you have been on workshops in the past and know you way around your camera, I don't think this workshop would be suitable for someone who is just beginning their landscape photography journey.
However, if you want amazing landscapes, towering cliffs, crashing waves, glaciers, icebergs, aurora's, waterfalls, canyons, amazing light and of course the northern lights and want to see the very best of Iceland then this workshop could be for you.
To reserve your place a £500 non refundable deposit is required, with the remaining balance due by 1st August 2027.
The price of the workshop is £5750 per person which includes all accommodation and travel whilst in Iceland. Entry into national parks and parking. Breakfast is provided on 10 of the nights with self catering on the others. The cost also includes a place on a weekend workshops in the uk (accommodation not provided) which allows us to get to know one another ahead of going to Iceland. This weekend workshop is only for clients who will be going on the Iceland Grand Tour and will be based in either North Yorkshire or Northumberland. Flights to and from Iceland are not included, along with insurances and meals other that indicated above.
If you would like to book 2 places and share a room the price per person would be £5200 per person.
The Northern lights are a naturally occurring phenomena. Whilst every effort will be made to find locations to see and photograph them, they cannot be guaranteed due to weather or other conditions that may or may not exist. In the event that it isn't possible to see or photograph the Northern Lights then no full or partial refund will be given.
