If you like being tucked up in bed by 10pm every night then this workshop is not going to be for you. Likewise, if you have always wanted to go to Iceland to see the Aurora dancing across the night sky then you are better off looking at another one of my workshops, later in the year.
However, if you are into your landscape and wildlife photography, don't mind staying up until the early hours, are ok with sleeping during the day and like the wind in your face whilst out at sea then this workshop is probably perfect for you!
The workshop will run from Thursday 9th July until Sunday 19th July 2027. For these workshops, I usually fly with Easyjet from Manchester to Keflavik as their flight leaves at around 6.30am which effectively gives us another day to explore Iceland. Flights are not included in the cost of the workshop.
Once we arrive in Iceland, we will collect out 4*4 car and droive to Grundarfjörður and the iconic Kirkjufell mountain where we will spend the first 2 nights. On Saturday morning it is a short drive to Stykkishólmur where we will catch a ferry to Brjánslækur in the Western Fjords. This area is famous for its high cliffs and migratory sea birds which visit each year during the summer months. We will be spending 2 nights in the western fjords. From there we will drive back towards Reykholt where we will spend 1 night taking in the sights along the way. From there we will head through the Golden Circle and stay on its south western edge which gives access to the amazing landscapes in the Landmannalaugar region which is only really accessible during the summer months. After a couple of days exploring here, we will head to Vik for 2 further nights, where the Puffins will be nesting on the cliffs at Dyrhólaey and the last Luppin fields will be in full bloom to the east of Vik. Our final night will see us in the small town of Gardur which is close to the airport and our flight home on Sunday 19th July.
In the majority of instances, I have booked 2 nights accommodation in each of the main locations, which will allow us to explore and photography when the light is at its best - usually in the middle of the night! It also means that we are not spending lots of time travelling each day and will enable us to avoid many of the tourist who flock to Iceland and visit the iconic locations during the day.
Included in price is all accommodation and travel whilst in Iceland, including the ferry, entry and parking fees at various locations and the workshop itself. For meals, I am anticipating that on 6 of the days we will be staying bed and breakfast and on the other 4 we will be self catering. No other meals are provided. There will also be a weekend workshop in Northumberland during 2026 which will be exclusively for clients who are attending this workshop, where we will visit the Farne Islands and various landmarks in Northumberland, so you can not only meet your fellow participants but we can start too practise some of the photography techniques that we will be using in Iceland. The cost of this weekend workshop is included in the overall workshop price, however accommodation is not included.
A £400 non refundable deposit is required to secure you place with the remaining balance due by 1st March 2027
