As you can image my news feed on Facebook gets lots of posts from fellow photographers that I follow. Over the past 48 hours, I have started to see lots of spiral and twirled images that have been edited in photoshop.
I sent a message to a friend yesterday evening asking how this was done. The images are created using existing photographs that you have already taken and the process is really simple. Take the image above, it started out as this image of Dunstanbugh Castle that I took whilst teaching a workshop earlier in the year.
In only a few minutes you can transform your images and I have to say it is great fun doing it and will also be great in helping you to understand layers and smart objects in photoshop. It always amazes me how creative people can get when they have time on their hands and also through social media how trends can develop so quickly. Anyway as opposed to trying to explain the step by step process that is involved, I have attached the link to the YouTube video that explains how it is done.
